About the West Oakland Home Ownership Assistance Center
Mission Statement
The mission of the Center is to connect West Oakland residents with home ownership and mortgage counselors, lenders and related information services to assist prospective first-time homebuyers in their journey from self-assessment and preparation to choosing a mortgage product to post-closing issues. The inventory focus is for-sale homes in West Oakland although clients may use information obtained at the Center for purchasing a home anywhere.
The Center is funded by several residential development companies with current or future developments in West Oakland: BUILD West Oakland, HFH Ltd., Holliday Development, and Pulte Homes. Additional sponsors include Bank of America, Citibank, Washington Mutual and Wells Fargo.
